Why us
RL is a multi-award winning social enterprise that specialises in co-designed and community-led media. Working with diverse communities and learner end-users, we seek out the most intuitive methods to shift a person’s attitude and shape new perspectives. Facts alone won’t bring about the change and learning that we so greatly need. With over 15 years’ experience, we leverage human stories and the latest innovative technologies to create programs that offer our audiences a new lens.
Our story
With a need to deliver allied health to First Nations communities in 2000, Founding Director Judith Hewitson worked with Elders and local healthcare professionals to co-design docu-drama training that spoke to communities in Far North Queensland and Torres Strait.
Bringing a cross-disciplinary background in health and media, Judith filmed the scenarios in community with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who had lived experience of disability in a remote community. These were the first culturally appropriate eLearning programs to be championed by community as recognised by the QLD Government.
Judith and her team continue to pursue intuitive methods to bring about community-led media for deep attitude change. Working in the Pacific, Asia and Europe, they partner with clients to bring about change where it is needed most.
